TOPIC: Greetings - finally !

Greetings - finally ! 1 year, 5 months ago #18900

???ooch trying to get onboard here has been a real pain. I've been trying to register for hours and I know a few mates have tried and couldn't get in. Login denied is the message and invalid token??? about 20 times. Is this site just meant for back home, have i pc probs or am i just daft????

Anyhows greetings from a farnworth notlob ex-pat residing/hiding in Palma for my sins. Had a good laugh reading through the stuff here. Videos are great had site on big screen in bar would love to see more programmes so we can do a quiz on them.

Keep up the good work.

ps changing pc today so will try with better one.

it keeps saying i need to install something and when i post i'm not in the site anymore and lose my typing. If i try to get back in it is a blank screen with invalid token. what do i need to do because this is painful.

I'm sure one of the tech blokes will be able to walk you through any problems, when they are up and around.

Bear with the site. It's still relatively young and they are still working out the kinks.

Oh, and welcome, from an ex-pat in California.

When you get 'invalid token' just hit back and you're logged in.

Another "ex-pat", I suppose.....currently in Cyprus.

How long does one have to bugger-off for to be an ex-pat?

if you don't qualify, you can always achieve the same thing with a couple of deed poll changes.

p.s. welcome!

Longer than your standard holiday, I think, Andrew, so I think you are safely an ex-pat.

How many times have I been an ex-pat now then? If I keep going back does it still count?

Might not be able to this time. Elena's visa application was turned down on the grounds that we have never met one another. That's what they actually said "on the balance of probability, I find it unlikely that the parties in question have met".........I was there when Elena filed the paper work and have been back twice with her to talk to them! We also have a marriage certificate that we gave them.....perhaps we married via Skype?

Anyone who buys the Daily Mail bollocks about it being easy to get a visa for non-EU citizens is mental These people are morons.

So I may have to sit in Cyprus for another year and then sod-off to Berkley......I'll buy you that meal, Wendy.

Figures...Rachel's opted for UC Davis over Berkeley; though it isn't that far away, about 45 minutes drive.

Elena wants to live in California, so she's twisting my arm over it. Apparently there is a good MSc program for her near there too. It's 40 here every day at the minute, I've had enough of hot

I don't know what it is in celcius, but yesterday it was 111F and today was similar and possibly hotter; it broke the record heat today. Currently (7:47 p.m.) it is 108F outside and 84F inside and the animals are really lethargic and not wanting to eat.
