Exclusive - Bolton sign Polish striker |
|
In what appears to be an administrative error, Bolton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Polish striker Lech Walesa. The 66 year old joins from FC Velcro on a pay-as-you-play deal with Joey O-Brien going in the opposite direction.
The stocky forward was delighted with the agreement which was signed after several rounds of negotiations with his agent, campaign manager, trade union and workers' representative. He told reporters "I am very happy to play anywhere except on the right wing."
Bolton chairman, Phil Gartside, told us "This is clearly a case of someone dicking about with routine wordplay for the sake of a cheap headline."
In other news, Ricardo Vaz Te has suffered an injury setback after fracturing both wrists in a freak marshmallow-related accident. He is expected to be out for a further six weeks.
